October Roundtable – Representation Needed!

Committee Members are needed for the October Roundtable. This is an important meeting that will cover key events on our calendar. Please contact Dan, Gail or Blake if you are able to attend.

Scouting for Food

Here are the details:

  • Flyers will be available at the October 3rd Roundtable, along with a map of coverage areas
  • Flyer distribution is the weekend of Nov. 2nd
  • Bag pick up is on Nov. 9th  (NOTE: We adjusted the Troop 45 calendar to reflect this corrected date.)
  • Bag Drop off for the Centre County Food Bank is inside the Nittany Mall, between JCPenny and Macy’s (Look for the Food Bank sign) (NOTE: Troop 45 drops off food at the Runville United Methodist Church, behind Sheetz).

The Scouting for Food Collection is one of the largest food collections for the local food banks and pantries. They are very thankful for our food collection. When passing out the flyers and collecting the food, be sure to act in a Scout-like manner, as we are all representatives of the Scouting program when we are in public. Also, please be sure to cover the same territory for pick up as you did for the flyer distribution. This will help to minimize missed bags and houses.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely, David Counsil
Senior District Executive

Rechartering

Recharter Packets will be handed out at the October 3, 2013 Roundtable. All units need to have someone attend the meeting. We will go over Charter Procedures, Internet Rechartering, and other important year end information.

Please bring a laptop so you can follow along with the presentation.

The Rountable meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm, in the Dreibelbis Auditorium, Mount Nittany Medical Center (same time/location as last year). Use entrance D. Units should send someone each month, who should also pick up any announcements and paperwork in the unit mailbox.

Some months the agenda is a breakout session covering different topics, other months cover training, internet applications, etc.

As always, the Commissioner Staff is available to help. We’re in the back and will break away and give individual help, if needed. If you need help with My Scouting, please bring your laptop, if possible, so that you can save your work.

Thanks,

Amy Harden
