Did you earn everything you wanted to earn at Advancement Day? Want an extra merit badge or two? Want to try something cool that you haven’t tried before? Well, there’s good news for you.
On March 1, Troop 31 is offering a merit badge midway where you can earn multiple merit badges in a single day. These merit badges are all in exciting areas that not only could earn you a badge, but could lead to a life-long hobby or profession.
The Merit Badge Midway is offering:
- Dog Care
- American Heritage
Cost is $10. You must sign up individually at THIS LINK. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE MAY BE PREREQUISITES FOR EACH BADGE. Those will come from the merit badge counselor. It is strongly recommended that you review the requirements for any badge you want to take, before you sign up. Those can be found HERE. (The rule of thumb is that if it can’t be completed in an hour, consider it a prerequisite that you’ll need to prove that you’ve completed.)
TO ATTEND ANY MERIT BADGE, YOU WILL NEED A SIGNED BLUE CARD FROM YOUR SCOUTMASTER FOR EACH MERIT BADGE. If you sign up, it is your responsibility to obtain this blue card at an upcoming scout meeting. You will also need to make sure you have a ride, to and from the event. If you do not complete the merit badge at the event, you will need to follow-up with your merit badge counselor at a later date.
Sign up early because there are limited spots. Those in need of any of the offered Eagle Required badges, and new Scouts coming from Webelos, are encouraged instead to go to Advancement Day to learn some of the basic skills required for their initial ranks.
