Mrs. Eckley has generously volunteered her time to help our scouts with Personal Management Merit Badge. This is a required Eagle Scout merit badge.
She plans to meet at the scout building at 6:30pm on December 4, December 11, and December 18. If you’re in Troop 45 and interested, please contact your scoutmaster for a blue card.
Per the official BSA write-up on this merit badge: “Personal management is about mapping a plan for your life that will involve setting short-range and long-range goals and investigating different ways to reach those goals. Education, training, and experience all help make your goals become a reality. To achieve your goals, you will choose the best path and make a commitment to it, while remaining flexible enough to deal with changes and new opportunities”
Most scouts find this to be among their hardest merit badges, so I do NOT recommend it for new scouts. Typically, scouts get far more out of this merit badge when they are a little older. It’s a tough merit badge and we want them to successfully complete it. The merit badge requires at least 3 months to complete. Usually, it’s best to take this when you’re a teenager and have achieved at least the First Class rank.
